You know you are an art student when :

~you consider morning to be 11am.

~you get really excited and begin to paint only to stop and discover that you have been painting for several hours and its now 3am in the morning and you need to be at work at 8am.

~you pity those poor harassed people rushing about in grey suits and those pathetic fashion slaves.

~someone calls you weird and delighted you thank them.

~your clothes are handmade and come from charity shops.

~every morning the bus driver greets you with "oh look its the art student".

~you play hide and seek in the city, the person hiding is found in the pub and the person who arranged the game turns out to be your writing and research tutor.

~your parents fret that you will never get a decent job.

~you wander about the city in paint stained clothes without an ounce of shame.

~you come home and your family is horrified at what you are wearing.In fact, your brother won't be seen with you in public.

~one night you decide to decorate your flat- including the shower.The landlord nearly faints when he finds the blue shower.

~your parents use your old work to start the hearth fire with.

~your tutors join you in the student's union at midday.

~you are always poor and don't mind it too much.

~you have a lot of learning problems and were bullied at school.You have "my learning problems are worse than your's" conversations with other art students.

~the later you stay up the more art ideas you get.

~people think you do nothing all day, but then expect a free drawing for them.

~after years of study, your uncle thinks you will be able to get work painting shop windows at Easter.

~When the scissors go missing, your dad still blames you even though you are now in your early twenties.

~you spend hours on a painting but your sister just laughs heartily at it and your mom struggles to find an encouraging remark to say.
