I greatly desire to live in an apartment that overlooks a happy street; an apartment with wide windows to let wade swaths of light stream in, an apartment with a comfy scarlet woman red sofa with an entire wall dedicated to books- art books, history books, fiction, glossy books filled with thoughtful, emotive photographs. In this world, I shall work for myself, writing and illustrating books in Irish for adults with a child inside and rise early with a cup of tea and the warmth of my dog, to see the morning mists unfurl their tendrils from the city.I shalln't care about all the dog hairs.I shall wear Edwardian and plain, pioneer dresses with flipflops in summer and embroidered peasant dresses with slouchy cowboy boots in winter. This is my desire and it's ripe for the picking.

Well, if this does happen, I sure hope you do not end up with a neighbour who enjoys loud rap music at 1 am. Been there.
ReplyDeleteThis is why for so long I wanted to live out in the country. Now, here I am. :)
If you ever have children, do not expect nice neat organized shelves. Haha!
I have had those people- hence an apartment, not a flat with cardboard walls.Every night they played drums and electric guitar from 1am-3am and often I would get up for work at 7am.
ReplyDeleteI used to wait until early next morning and play loud classical music.
