My Apron

Its been a pleasant weekend. My trusty Singer sewing machine has finally been fixed and upon, hearing the glad tidings,I dropped all and rushed home.
In the summer I had been working on an apron, just an experimental one mind, when the Singer let out a few sparks and died- or so I thought. It pains me but I almost finished my apron but for the final neck strap.I hadn't brought enough material home!Still... its come out pretty.

Shop aprons are for the sort of bosomly lady, perhaps with the idea that all bakers must simply be as round as their iced buns, but I am not that baker; my chest is simply too small, meaning that shop aprons hang well past my knees, so the idea of making my very own apron readily sprang into my head.
The apron therefore is narrower than most and will have a short neck strap.I just wish I could have tucked the Singer under my arm and brought it back to my place. My head is crammed with ideas, all jostling for attention and its frustrating that I cannot attend to them and I am so itching to complete my apron.

  1. I like big aprons. I am a messy cook and eater and I have helpful children that somehow make me a mess. Strangely, I keep forgetting to put on aprons, because basically I am already wearing one and then too late, I remember. :)
