I've made an I-am-now-22 list.In the near future I want to:
-find an old fashioned wooden chair
-finish my apron
-visit the Victoria and Albert museum in London for next year's artdone!
-release a crowd of balloons into the sky
-do graffiti
-have my friends over for dinner now that I have a big enough home done!
-purchase a sewing machine and learn how to use it properly instead of borrowing everyone else's
-dig out Miss Moneypenny glasses
-get a good job
-get a good result in my BA
In the more distant future, I want:
-meet Lisa in person
-adopt a cocker spaniel
-travel, visiting Italy, India, Botswana, France, Japan, Germany, Korea Russia, Switzerland and to return to Cyprus
-own a vintage 1950's style telephone
-get a cape dress

No prince charming on your list? That's a shame! I want my prince charming on a shining steed some day! (Not particularly fussy which color the horse-black or white-makes no difference)!!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to visit the Victoria and Albert museum. I don't know how accurate the BCC production film of their life story is, but I LOVED it. I thought it such a beautiful love story. Have you ever toured the Great Exhibition? That's a dream of mine...
But the dream highest on my list would probably be getting the new school I've been dreaming on for so long. All classrooms in ONE building (we have school in an old trailer now and I have to run back and fort…)
I'll keep my eye open for a vintage, 1950-ish telephone in thrift stores for you, then when you come visiting me I'll have something to give you
ReplyDeleteHow kind of you Lisa!I found one in a charity shop (thrift store) recently for a mere £18, but the wires looked quite damaged.Belfast has quite a few stores that sell new versions, but they are so pricey- £60, £50 and £45, too much for a poor student. But still I can dream!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your new school soon. As for prince charming, I'm sure someone will come along eventually. I've never had a prince charming much to my family's disgust- my mom was married by 21, I'm 22 and never had a boyfriend.I am THE SPINSTER in the family apparently!Anyway, why can't the woman be prince charming and sweep the male off his feet?!My steed would be a vintage car.
And yes, saw the life story too....
I've never had a prince charming either, and I'm 26! I don't mind being labeled spinster for the present...but someday, after I get my new school, I wouldn't mind changing my last name...
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything wrong with women making the first move, as in expressing interest. After all, Ruth (in the Bible) made the initial move when she went to Boaz. But I believe there's need for caution, I think it's important for the man to lead. That's not easy coming from me, I'm naturally a strong-willed person. But I've seen many less than admiral marriages because the woman wouldn't let her man be the leader of the home that God intended him to be.
Lisa, I am VERY stubborn.
ReplyDeleteActually the topic of the male asking the female out was discussed sometime ago with some foreign male friends. It turned out it was the same for in India, Marious (spelt wrong), Italy and Sri Lanka- although arranged marriages still happen in those countries.I was amused to note that they all were rather glum about having to do the asking; they feared being turned down or being laughed at.
